Position Description:
The Robinson Center for Young Scholars is currently seeking temporary, hourly teaching aides to support our Saturday programming during Spring (April 1 - May 20) quarter. Each quarter runs for 8 weeks, and TAs will assist up to 3 hour-long courses a day (9am-12pm). TAs are expected to arrive 30 minutes before their first scheduled course and be prepared to stay 30 minutes after the final course, each day.
Saturday courses serve students in grades K-8, and are intended to provide intellectually ambitious students with challenge, inspiration, and fun, in a collaborative, supportive learning environment. Our classes are not intended to move students ahead in the standard curriculum but rather to explore topics not usually covered in the K-8 classroom. There is no homework, although optional activities may be suggested for outside of class.
PLEASE NOTE: Robinson Center Summer Programs are currently being planned for in-person instruction on the University of Washington's Seattle Campus. Should the University close campus in accordance with Washington Safe Start protocols, classes may be moved to online status. All University employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at time of employment.
The Saturday Program Teaching Aide is required to attend an orientation before classes start and will assist the classroom teachers with all aspects of instruction and supervision. - Documenting student work;
- Performing experiments or classroom demonstrations;
- Escorting students between campus locations during class change and generally monitoring student safety;
- Assisting course instructors with daily set up and break down of classrooms and supplies;
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

- Applicants must be at least 15 years of age at start of the program;
