James ‘Jym’ Kinney is a high school teacher who calls Steilacoom home. Over the course of the last few years he has taught mathematics, physics, and theatre at various schools in the Puget Sound area. He completed a B.S. in Mathematics Education and M.A.E. in Secondary Education at Pacific Lutheran University. Continually seeking opportunities to expand knowledge and teaching acumen, he finished a Master of Theatre Studies at Southern Oregon University and is currently engaged in post-graduate studies in gifted education at Whitworth University. “At their heart, math, science, and theatre are the same. They are all telling a story. Science tells the story of the universe we see, theatre tells the story of humanity.  And we find that math, beyond the numbers, tells the story of how objects are connected to each other.”
