Amina Cesario earned her B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in biological science from the University of Milan (Italy) and her Ph.D. in marine science from the University of Hong Kong in 2017. After completing her B.S. in 2005, Amina moved to Egypt to study the habitat use and foraging ecology of a population of spinner dolphins in the southern Egyptian Red Sea. In 2008-09, she was a research assistant at the Murdoch University Cetacean Research Unit (Australia) and a marine environmental educator at the Civic Aquarium of Milan (Italy). In 2010 she went back to Egypt to conduct research on the megafauna (marine mammals, sea turtles, and sharks) in the southern Egyptian Red Sea. Her work contributed to the formulation of conservation policies in collaboration with an Egyptian NGO. Amina is currently based in Seattle.
