UW Robinson Center for Young Scholars

The Student Assistant (SA) for the Robinson Center will serve as the primary liaison of the RC by managing the front desk at the GUA during the times the Program Manager of the Admin team is unavailable. They will often interact with RC Scholars, Transition School Students, RC Staff, and RC Families/prospective families.

The Student Assistant (SA) for the RC: 

  • Staff the Guggenheim Annex front desk between: 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM depending on availability
  • Provide a friendly and professional experience to any student they visits our office
  • Respond to inquiries about the Robinson Center from students and their families by phone or email. 
    • Transfer any incoming calls to the correct contact
  • Work collaboratively with RC staff on detail oriented projects relating to several different programs
  • Assist in the coordination of the day-to-day operations of the RC office
  • Oversee the building operations while full time staff are attending staff meetings on campus
  • Full time, degree-seeking student on the Seattle campus
  • 21 or over at the time of employment
  • Ability to interact with youth in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Ability to serve as a positive and professional representative of the RC when communicating with offices across campus
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong oral and written communication skills of the English language
  • Good academic and conduct standing prior to and throughout the entire term of employment
  • Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters: Ability to work 5-10 hours per week.  
    • between 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Experience with administrative support tasks (e-mail, phone, texting, Zoom)
  • Experience in working with youth

Hourly wage: $20.76 (effective January 1, 2025)
