The Robinson Center has an outstanding opportunity for an hourly graduate student to assist the Enrichment team with the Summer programs! 

The Robinson Center (RC) is seeking a part-time, temporary graduate student assistant to support the Enrichment team with the Summer programs. Reporting to the Director of Enrichment, this position will primarily assist with organizing supplies and course materials, planning and managing events, and providing facility support as needed. 

The desired start date is April 15, 2024. The position will end on August 2, 2024.

Duties include but are not limited to

Program Support  (90%) 

  • Assist with receiving and inventorying supplies;
  • Be responsible for assembling course supply packages and general classroom supply bins;
  • Support with preparing course folders and other printed materials for events;
  • Be responsible for monitoring electronic device checkout;
  • Monitor student attendance and assist with contacting teaching staff; 
  • Assist with coordinating daily  teachers’ requests for printing materials and supplies;
  • Be responsible for delivering items to classrooms across campus, as needed.

Events and Facility Support (10%)

  • Serve as backup when needed for reception/front desk tasks;
  • Provide reception during the program’s events, including oversight of the facility;
  • Assist staff during orientations and professional development events (may be outside of regular hours);
  • Other tasks as needed.

Schedule:

This is temporary, hourly paid position, from April 15 to August 2, 2024. April through June, the weekly commitment will be 20 hours over 3-4 days a week; in July, we will require 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Compensation:

Hourly pay is $19.97-$22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Being enrolled in a UW graduate program.

Additional requirements include:

  • Strong computer skills, including an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive suite; 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a diverse array of constituents, including University staff, faculty, and students; 
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills;
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule to accommodate the weekly needs of the program;
  • Demonstrates accountability, following up with supervision about tasks assigned and promptly seeking feedback when necessary
  • Demonstrates customer service, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability and desire to be flexible and work in an environment with young and energetic scholars;  
  • Ability and desire to contribute positively and professionally to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.  

Desired: 

  • Experience working in an educational environment 

Conditions of Employment: 

  • A satisfactory outcome from a criminal background verification will be required prior to employment;
  • Successful completion of UW Sexual Misconduct Disclosure;
  • Ability to walk some distance and move heavy objects; 
  • Flexible work schedule over four days per week;
  • This role is an hourly position and does not provide tuition benefits.
