Amina received her B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in Biological Science from the University of Milan (Italy) and her Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of Hong Kong in 2017. Over the years, Amina has mentored undergraduate students in Italy, Egypt and Hong Kong, and has actively collaborated with both local and international teams, having lived and worked in five countries on five continents. This diverse experience has afforded her the opportunity to engage with various cultures and integrate seamlessly into new communities. Following the completion of her Ph.D., Amina relocated to Seattle where she joined the Robinson Center’s Summer Stretch and Saturday Enrichment programs. Amina’s teaching approach is characterized by hands-on methods, encompassing a range of courses such as introductory biology, evolutionary biology, marine biology, and marine mammal science. Amina’s dedication to teaching stems from her desire to impart knowledge and enthusiasm to students. She is committed to fostering critical thinking skills and nurturing the innate curiosity of her students, viewing teaching as a means to empower the next generation of learners.
