Amina received her B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in Biological Science from the University of Milan, Italy, and her Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of Hong Kong in 2017. Over the years, she has mentored undergraduate students in Italy, Egypt, and Hong Kong and collaborated extensively with both local and international teams. Having lived and worked in five countries across five continents, Amina has gained a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and developed the adaptability and openness needed to engage meaningfully with new communities.

Following the completion of her Ph.D., Amina relocated to Seattle, where she joined the Robinson Center for Young Scholars and the Interdisciplinary Honors Program at the University of Washington. She has since joined the Robinson Center’s Transition School, where she currently serves as the Biology instructor. In this role, she brings her broad scientific background and passion for teaching to the classroom, introducing students to biology through engaging and hands-on learning experiences. Amina’s dedication to teaching stems from her desire to impart knowledge and enthusiasm to students. She is committed to fostering critical thinking skills and nurturing the innate curiosity of her students, viewing teaching as a means to empower the next generation of learners
