
Alex Perry has worked 11 years in public schools working as a high school mathematics teacher, union representative and as a private tutor. He has taught courses ranging from remedial algebra all the way to AP Statistics. Currently he is working at Mercer Island High School as an Algebra 1 and Geometry teacher. His educational philosophy is set in research-backed methods in order to maximize the learning in his students. Alex has an AA from Pierce Community College, BAEd with a middle level and secondary level mathematics endorsements from Pacific Lutheran University, and a MAEd with an endorsement in Teacher Leadership from Seattle Pacific University plus certifications from Stanford University and Harvard University. He lives in Renton with his wife, son and miniature Australian shepherd, Felix Mendelssohn. He enjoys running, hiking, and has a special skill with creating hot sauces.
