Gianna Craig

Gianna (she/her) is the History Instructor for Transition School. She holds a BA in English with a minor in history from Whitman College and an MA in English from the University of Washington, where she advanced to PhD candidacy with a focus on 19th and 20th century US literature and culture. She has over a decade of classroom teaching experience in secondary and post-secondary settings. Most recently, she has taught classes in humanities, literature, history, writing, and cultural studies across grades 9-12 at independent schools in Seattle and California. During her graduate studies, she taught literature classes for the Robinson Center’s programs and composition and literature classes for UW’s English Department. She is committed to helping students develop critical thinking, reading, writing, research, and information literacy skills so that they can navigate the world we live in today. Beyond the classroom, Gianna enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors with family and friends, listening to podcasts, and reading.
