Gianna Craig (she/her) is the History Instructor for Transition School. She holds a BA in English with a minor in history from Whitman College; an MA in English from the University of Washington, where she advanced to PhD candidacy with a focus on 19th and 20th century US literature and culture; and an MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) from the UW iSchool, which she completed in June 2026. She has over a decade of classroom teaching experience in secondary and post-secondary settings. Prior to joining the Transition School, she taught classes in humanities, literature, history, writing, and cultural studies across grades 9-12 at independent schools in Seattle and California. During her English graduate studies, she taught composition and literature classes for the Robinson Center’s programs and the UW’s English Department. She is committed to helping students develop critical thinking, reading, writing, research, and information literacy skills so that they can navigate the world we live in today. Beyond the classroom, Gianna enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors with family and friends, listening to history and culture podcasts, and reading.
