Keisha Bharath is a fourth-year PhD student in Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington, with a BSc in Geomatic Engineering (Honors) and an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning (Honors) from the University of the West Indies. She also hold a postgraduate diploma in Informal Settlements from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and is a 2021 Fulbright Scholar. Her research focuses on urban planning, colonialism, sustainability, and planning theory, particularly in the context of small island developing states and the Global South. After a rewarding experience teaching “Next City” in Summer 2024, She is excited for the opportunity to inspire students again in Summer 2025.
