Kristin Leong (M.Ed.) is an award-winning multimedia producer, educator, and writer. She is the unlikely optimist behind ROCK PAPER RADIO, a newsletter and production company for misfits. As a 2023 Creative Capital “Wild Futures” awardee, Kristin is currently writing a hybrid memoir and producing a podcast based on her reporting on America’s Family Court system and her own experiences as a protective parent. She is a former public middle school Humanities teacher, a 3-term Washington State Teacher Leader, and an international TED-Ed Innovative Educator. She is also the founder of RollCallProject.com, a portrait and interview project exploring how students and teachers connect across cultural divides. ROLL CALL has been used in classrooms around the world to fuel conversations on equity and inclusivity. She was previously a producer with KUOW Public Radio and a curator with Town Hall Seattle. She is a proud hapa haole, Honolulu-born, first-generation scholar. She is based in Seattle where she collects books and houseplants while planning dinner parties with her wife, son, and their rescue pup Radley.
