Liza Birnbaum (she/her) has taught academic and creative writing at the college and high-school level in settings including the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the Juniper Institute for Young Writers, and Bard College’s Clemente Course in the Humanities. In Seattle, she teaches at Hugo House and in the Freedom Education Project Puget Sound. She holds an M.F.A. in fiction from UMass Amherst and is a founding editor of Big Big Wednesday, a print journal of literature and visual art. When she’s not writing or teaching, you can find Liza riding her bike, attempting ambitious baking projects, or playing with her dog Hans.
