He taught high school biology and physics for 11 years in Portland, OR, leading the science department in developing a new culturally relevant, project-based curriculum. He worked as an instructional coach for science teachers across the country to improve their practice. Currently, he coaches teacher candidates in the UW’s College of Education’s Secondary Teacher Education Preparation Program. He looks forward to getting into the classroom with students again and talking about science.
