Michelle Tobey is a 4th-year Ph.D. student in the Interdisciplinary Urban Design and Planning program at the University of Washington and a member of the Urban Ecology Research Lab, having obtained their undergraduate degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master’s in planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. They’ve been employed in multiple classes as a teacher’s assistant for both college and elementary school children over the years, striving to pass on their passion for the complex and diverse nature of cities in fun and engaging ways. Chelle says that inspiring the next generation of planners, at any level or age, is something to look forward to daily!
