Janine “Nina” Hsiao Sobers is a graduate student in the English Department at UW, currently working towards a Ph.D. in world literature. Originally from Southern California, she received a B.A. in Literatures in English from UC San Diego and moved to Seattle shortly after to pursue her doctorate. She has worked for several years as an instructor for the English Department, teaching courses in composition, argumentation, research, and literary analysis, and looks forward to bringing this experience to her Summer Stretch class. When she isn’t writing or researching for her dissertation, she enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes, baking for her students, and “loafing around” with her beloved tortoiseshell cat, Eveline.
