Reese Johnston graduated from the UW in 2012, with a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science and a B.A. in Philosophy. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin in 2017, studying computability theory in the context of uncountable sets. While working on his degrees, Reese taught in the Robinson Center’s Summer Stretch and Saturday Enrichment programs. In addition to teaching mathematics at the Robinson Center’s Transition School since 2018, Reese has also been teaching calculus and precalculus at colleges in the greater Seattle area, as well as Adult Basic Education, preparing students for college-level mathematics, at Shoreline Community College.
