Remy Sumida-Tate

Remy Sumida-Tate (they/them) is a graduate student instructor at the University of Washington, Seattle. They have a BA in English Literature with a minor in Writing Studies from the University of California, Merced, as well as an MA in English Literature and Culture from the University of Washington. Their research focuses on the intersections of digital fan culture and science fiction. Remy has taught introductory college composition courses at UW for three years as part of the English Department’s PhD program. They are passionate about helping students develop writing skills across disciplines, preparing them to tackle any kind of writing they might be asked to do beyond and including the traditional essay. Outside of the classroom, Remy has years of experience playing and running tabletop roleplaying games; they also enjoy drawing, reading, and playing with their beloved cat.
