Dr. Sam Timinsky has been teaching history, rhetoric, politics, and debate at the university, high school, and middle school levels for 14 years and is currently a Humanities Teacher at the Northwest School here in Seattle. He received his Ph.D in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020 and an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Washington in 2012. He’s received numerous teaching awards including the University of Chicago’s Outstanding Educator Award in 2022 for his work with high school and middle school students. Sam spent many years teaching gifted learners at Nueva School in San Mateo, CA where he learned the values of having students learn by doing and came to understand the depth of capacity that strong, committed students have. He thrives on getting in the weeds of prose and text with students and is excited to be back at the Robinson Center after many years away
