Sam Timinsky

Dr. Sam Timinsky has a passion for history, rhetoric, politics, and debate. He holds a PhD in History (University of Wisconsin-Madison) and an MA in International Studies (University of Washington).

He has over 15 years of teaching experience across university, high school, and middle school levels, including at The Nueva School in California, the University of Washington, The University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Northwest School in Seattle where he currently is a Humanities Teacher and a Grade Level Coordinator. This is his third year back teaching enrichment courses at the Robinson Center after several years away and his fifth overall. He has also won numerous awards, including the University of Chicago’s Outstanding Educator Award (2022).

An experienced speech and debate instructor, he has led students to a national championship in Parliamentary Debate (2023), and earned a First Diamond Award from the National Speech & Debate Association Honor Society (2025).
