Last Friday July 11th, the Summer Challenge students in ‘Next City’ took a field trip to explore the Seattle Central Library! The students spent some time learning about the architecture, planning, and construction of the building.

In the 'Next City' course, students explore how cities work, and imagine a new city based on their investigations. They wear the hats of architects, urban planners, landscape architects, and construction managers to think about the city. Students work together in large teams to imagine and design a city plan, and then in smaller groups construct buildings and parks for their NEXT CITY.
