Fire/Disaster/Emergency Preparedness Evacuation: drill will be organized with UWPD Crime Prevention Unit, EH&S, and Emergency Management for all staff and students. Procedures and plans will be reviewed and practiced. Must be completed by 03/31 annually; will be arranged by the Administrator.

First Aid & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): for beginners, as well as those who wish to renew their certification; will be able to identify when CPR is necessary, how to administer proper CPR, and have knowledge of basic of emergency care. Must be completed by 12/31 of every odd year; to be arranged by the Administrator.

Fire Extinguisher Training: for any employee who is expected to use a fire extinguisher in the event of an emergency, covering fire prevention, emergency and evacuation procedures, and hands-on fire extinguisher training. Must be completed by 10/31 annually; to be arranged by the Administrator through Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S).

Safe Zone Training: to understand sexual and gender identity, expression, and orientation. Training will provide tools and resources to help create a safe and affirming space for all staff and students. Must be completed by all new employees. More info here.

Safe Campus, Workplace Violence Prevention: preventing violence is everyone’s responsibility. Training will provide information on counseling and safety resources, University policies, and violence reporting requirements that will assist in maintaining a safe personal, work, and learning environment. General Asbestos Awareness: to understand the health risks and to help prevent unnecessary exposure by recognizing and reporting potential asbestos hazards. Must be completed by all new employees. More info here.

Mandatory Reporting: Senate Bill 5991 requires all higher education employees to report suspected child abuse or neglect. Must be completed by all new employees. More info here.

Training Required for Access to Particular Resources

Fleet Services Basic Driver Training: is required for all authorized drivers prior to their initial driving assignment. Training covers UW policies and driving safety. Must be completed only once, but prior to Fleet rental. More info here.

Marketo Email/ Event Training: is the email marketing application adopted by University Advancement and UW Marketing for broad based email engagement such as e-newsletters and event invitations. It can also host processing of web-based event registrations and payments. More info here.

First-Time Procurement Card Training: All new users of the ProCurement system must receive training prior to receiving a UW ProCurement Card. Options include cardholder, administrator, and reconciliation training. More info here.

Procurement Card Renewal: an online refresher module to make sure all cardholders have sufficient knowledge of and are up to date on purchasing policies and regulations changes. Must be completed every 3 years before ProCard expires; will be contacted by the Administrator and Procurement. More info here.

Recommended Training

WA State Ethics Training: is where you will learn about the Ethics in Public Service Act, RCW 42.52. The Act is a comprehensive statute that applies to all branches of state government. Take the quiz here. Reading is included in the quiz.

Optional Professional Development and Training

POD Courses & Webinars: are presented through a partnership with content provider People-OnTheGo and range in length from a single 40-minute session to three 90-minute sessions. Live webinars focus on software/technology, communication, effective processes, and other areas essential to peak productivity. More info here.

Professional Devevlopment and Conferences: will be supported by the Robinson Center budget with pre-approval. When representing the Center, up to $500 will be pre-approved if the employee is not presenting. For presenters, the amount will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
