Due to the delayed release of the 2024-25 FAFSA this year, the UW priority deadline for FAFSA is now February 28th, 2024.  We encourage all UW Academy applicants to submit a FAFSA or WASFA and name UW as a recipient by this priority deadline to ensure you are eligible for the most aid possible.

Academy students pay UW tuition and fees directly to the University and are eligible for financial aid like all UW students.  FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) forms should be submitted by January 15th in order for students to be eligible for the maximum amount of financial aid for the following academic year. All applicants are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Financial aid status is not a factor in our evaluation of applicants for admissions. Academy applicants are automatically considered for a handful of merit-based scholarships offered by the Robinson Center and the Mary Gates Scholars Program.

Academy students who are not Washington State residents will be required to pay 1) Non-Resident UW tuition and 2) the Academy Non Resident Fee for their first and second years at the UW. For more information on the Non-Resident Fee, please contact us at uwacad@u.washington.edu

  • Washington State offers financial aid programs to students who aren’t eligible for federal financial aid because of immigration status. These students still need to meet other program requirements. UW Leadership Without Borders is another great resource for both financial aid issues as well as helping you navigate your undergraduate experience as an undocumented student.
