We recognize that every learner is unique. The Enrichment Program is committed to the belief that the most powerful way to foster an inclusive community and unlock every student's potential is through expert instruction. Therefore, we are committed to empowering every instructor with the inclusive pedagogical core practices necessary to create and maintain transformative, identity-affirming learning environments where every student is seen, challenged, and empowered to thrive.
To ensure a successful and positive experience in the Enrichment Program, all students must meet the following baseline requirements:
- Effective Communication: Demonstrate functional English language proficiency in listening, speaking, and reading.
- Personal Independence: Manage personal self-care and physical needs independently, such as using the restroom without adult assistance.
- Independent Learning: Participate in the classroom without dedicated one-to-one adult support or a modified, individualized academic plan.
- Peer-Based Participation: Engage successfully in a group setting without the need for a personal companion or aide.
Standard Support Strategies
While our Enrichment Program cannot provide the full range of individualized supports available in traditional school settings, we are committed to making every effort to provide meaningful support within our program’s capacity. Our strength-based, inclusive teaching approach includes the following strategies in every course to support all learners:
- A consistent and clearly posted daily schedule.
- Regular movement and brain breaks.
- Access to fidget tools and noise-cancelling headphones.
- Directions provided both in writing and verbally.
- Access to a cool-down/regulation area with calming tools and activities.
If your student needs additional support, families can request it when students are placed in a course, using the process below:
- You will fill out the Student Support Request Form before finalizing the enrollment
- We will review your request. Requests for more personalized support will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the Program Director's discretion.
- You will receive a confirmation email within three weeks outlining the support your student can receive.
While we cannot guarantee that all specific requests will be met, we are committed to carefully reviewing each request and partnering with families to provide the support we can within the program's capacity.
Any changes to an existing support plan will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the Program Director's discretion.
