Have you ever wondered why your heart races when you're scared, even when you're sitting perfectly still? Why your eyes can play tricks on you? Why some things get easier the more you practice? Your brain and body are having a nonstop conversation, and most of the time, you don't even notice. In The Amazing You, students become Brain-Body Scientists investigating one big mystery: Why does my body do things I don't tell it to do?
Each week, students tackle a new piece of the mystery through hands-on experiments, model building, and investigations of their own bodies. They will build giant neurons, map their nervous system, test their reflexes, measure their heart rate before and after a startle, explore sensory illusions, and design a personal calm-down protocol. Every student creates a Brain-Body Field Guide—a working scientific reference book filled with data tables, prediction logs, diagrams, and discoveries. On the final day, families are invited to a Scientist Showcase where students present their Field Guides and demonstrate one discovery about how their brain and body work together.
