It is critical that all Robinson Center staff read, understand, and follow the UW Mandatory Reporting Policy.

Youth at UW

The youth program office published a new set of Frequently Asked Questions to support your understanding and implementation of Executive Order 56: Reporting Suspected Child Abuse or Neglect. You can find them on the website here.

Here is a handout explaining requirements for authorized personnel (which is basically everyone at the RC).This will help explain the process and requirements from someone being hired on to work with and around minors: APS 10.13 Requirements for Authorized Personnel.

Safe Campus

Preventing violence is a shared responsibility in which everyone at the UW plays a part. The SafeCampus website provides information on counseling and safety resources, University policies, and violence reporting requirements that help us maintain a safe personal, work, and learning environment. Guidance on what to report here.

Student Accidents at the RC

Since almost all of our students are minors, it is advised to err on the side of over-precaution in the case of an accident. If a student is injured and the wound seems potentially dangerous, or if it is any kind of head injury, do not hesitate to call 911 immediately. After calling 911, contact the family, followed by informing the RC director (and associate or assistant director depending on the program of the student) of the incident.

Regardless of the severity of the injury, a Student Accident Form must be completed by the adult most closely associated with the incident, be it any staff member who witnessed the event taking place, the instructor of the class in which it happened, or the senior RC staff member present. The form must then be copied, and the original sent home with the student or their parents. The copy goes in their student file.
